The Perfect Veggie Pesto Pizza: A Gozney Dome Pizza Oven Recipe

Picture this: a warm Summer evening, a backyard filled with laughter and conversation, and the intoxicating aroma of freshly baked pizza wafting through the air. As the sun sets, you gather around the Gozney Dome Pizza Oven, ready to create a culinary masterpiece. Today, we're going to share our founder's all-time favorite pizza recipe that never fails to delight his guests – the Veggie Pesto Pizza. Bursting with vibrant flavors and a combination of fresh vegetables, this pizza is a true crowd-pleaser. So, let's roll up our sleeves, fire up the oven, and dive into the art of making this delectable creation.

1.   One dough ball (from your favorite pizza shop or make it yourself!

2.   1/4 Cup Pesto

3.   1 Burrata Ball

4.   1/3 Cup Cherry Tomatoes

5.   1/3 Cup Mushrooms

6.   1 Small Peeled Zucchini

7.   1 Lemon sliced with the rind on

8.   Handful Chopped Olives

9.   2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

10. Salt + Pepper

11. Pizza Oven (preferably the Gozney Dome)



1.   Prepare the Dough: Remove the dough ball from the fridge and allow it to sit at room temperature for about 45 minutes. This will make it easier to stretch and shape into your desired pizza crust.

2.   Preheat the Gozney Dome Pizza Oven: While the dough is resting, turn on your Gozney pizza oven and let it preheat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, reaching an optimum temperature of 806 degrees Fahrenheit. This blazing heat will give your pizza that perfect crispy crust.

3.   Prep the Vegetables: Slice the cherry tomatoes in half, prepare the mushrooms by cleaning and slicing them. Peel the zucchini into long, thin strips resting in olive oil + salt with a sprinkle of lemon rind. These fresh veggies will provide a burst of color and flavor to your pizza.

4.   Assemble the Pizza: Once all the vegetables are prepped, it's time to assemble your masterpiece. Stretch the dough into your desired thickness and shape. Spread a generous amount of pesto sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Layer on the cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, zucchini slices, lemon slices with rinds, and olives. Finally, place the burrata ball in the center of the pizza and give it a healthy drizzle of olive oil & sprinkle of salt & pepper.

5.   Bake to Perfection: Slide your beautifully assembled pizza onto the hot pizza stone in the Gozney Dome Pizza Oven. Cook for approximately 90 seconds or until the edges turn a dark golden color, indicating a crispy crust and perfectly melted toppings.

6.   Finishing Touches: Once your pizza is out of the oven, drizzle it with your favorite olive oil and sprinkle some freshly ground black pepper. These final touches will enhance the flavors and give your pizza that extra touch of perfection.
