Love this happy yellow patio furniture and umbrella at our Arcadia project and how it is very Italian Riviera meets Palm Springs.

May Moments 🤍 setting up the intentionally mismatched garden furniture in all its careless luxury; birthday presents from my oldest, dearest friend and from my daughter who know me the best; design visits; Paris baguette in the backyard; the start of my outdoor sink (!!) finally coming together; my azalea loosing its leaves; my 5 year old turning 6; Hazel throwing out her first pitch in her team's game (the Purple Onions remain undefeated); Me; water. My May Birthday was truly horrible, as it tends to be, but I'm coming to realize it was actually a blessed birthday 🎂 because for so many reasons that I could write a book about, I am finally starting to feel like myself again.
One thing we’ve always loved about hotels like The Passalacqua Hotel on Lake Como or The Borgo Santandrea Amalfi? Their patio umbrellas! 🤩
So we’ve rounded up our Business &Pleasure Co. favorites that will make your outdoor space feel more like a chic getaway ⛱️🌞

One last event to cap off an amazing summer, backyard Al fresco dining of course, before the start of the school year. I didn't order any special first day of school paper goods, or make cutesy pencil shaped treats, or curate a back to school basket complete with fun paraphernalia. As it turns out, I just really can't seem to find the time for that these days.
But then the kids said to me on Wednesday morning, "but mom, aren't we doing anything special on the last day of summer?" Somehow, a trip to the gym, orthodontist appointments, and soccer practice didn't count as last day of summer fun. Can't say I blame them. 😏 But day of, it was far too late to order all the things I see daily on Instagram. What's a mom to do?
Well, the kids and I made a Trader Joe's run post gym to grab some florals and I carved out the time to set a beautiful table of things I already had. Our family found the time to eat together the night before school began, even if it was 8pm after soccer practice, and as drscurlock and I got to listen to the kids anticipatory first day excitement over delivered pizza I realized this was perfect. That sometimes, even with my lack of planning, I can still create memorable celebratory moments out of seemingly nothing. End of summer 2023, what a good one. #backtoschool #aVeryscurlockparty
